Dogs love the great outdoors and love to explore as much of it as possible. They are never happier than when they are out at the park or even at the beach, taking in the rays of sunshine. In the ninth installment of our #addmorehappy series, we take a look at some of the fun things to do with your dog outside and the reasons why they love it so much. Searching for fun things to do with your dog outside should not take too long as, believe it or not, your dog is bound to be happy, so long as they are with you. However, to give you some ideas, here are some of our recommendations.

Visit an off-leash dog park

Dogs love their walks, especially as they are usually accompanied by their best friend. However, dogs also love to go rogue and there are only certain places where this is possible. Off-leash dog parks are a delight for highly energetic dogs who just want to run and enjoy themselves and it also presents a good opportunity to throw some training practice in to see just how well they are doing with their fetching.

Let’s be honest, when has anyone seen a photo of a dog looking miserable when they are running?

Great explorations

As well as letting them run off their leash, another fun thing to do with your dog is to take them on a longer and more exploratory walk. Whenever you discover a new park or some open-air scenery that your dog will love to run their nose over, this is bound to pique your dog’s interest and as they are known for their inquisitive nature, you can be sure that they will love every minute.

Playtime

It isn’t just humans that love to play games, dogs love it too. Games such as fetch, whether it is with a stick, Frisbee, or a ball, are really fun things to do with your dog outside. Just remember to take the dog treats along as what is playtime without them?

There are plenty of open spaces for you to enjoy this and you will find that not only will it increase your dog’s exercise levels but it will also give them the chance to strengthen their bond with you.

Tour de Woof

Our final fun thing to do with your dog is to take them on a bike ride or roller-blading if that is your preferred activity. Now obviously, you will be the one riding the bike, however, many dogs love nothing more than to tag along with their human to ensure they are doing it properly.

Attachments are available in order to fasten your dog to the bike while you ride and providing you do not get too carried away, your dog will love the challenge of keeping up with you.

The above are just some of the fun things to do with your dog outside. Remember, dogs love spending time with their humans. It is when they are at their happiest so whatever the weather, think about having some fun with your canine companion outside. They will thank you for it and you could even throw a little open-air dining in and take your dog’s favorite Applaws Taste Toppers with you. Now there is an idea that will please you both.
