BY ENTERING INTO THIS COMPETITION YOU AGREE THAT YOU ARE 18 YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER AND THAT YOU AGREE TO BE BOUND BY THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS. IF YOU DO NOT AGREE WITH THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS, YOU MUST NOT PARTICIPATE IN THIS COMPETITION.

The competition and these terms and conditions will be governed by English law and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England. Data Protection: Any personal data relating to the winner or any other entrants will be used solely in accordance with current UK data protection legislation. 1. The promoter is: Applaws Ltd (“Promoter”). 

2. The competition is open to residents of the United Kingdom, aged 18 years or over. Employees of Applaws and their close relatives, and/or anyone otherwise connected with the organisation or judging of the competition are exempt from entry. 

3. There is no entry fee and no purchase necessary to enter this competition. Only one entry will be accepted per person. Multiple entries from the same person will be disqualified. 

4. The competition will start at 10 AM on 7th April and the closing date for entry will be 17th April 2025 at midday. After this date no further entries to the competition will be permitted and will be void. 

5. No responsibility can be accepted for entries not received for whatever reason. 

6. The route to enter the competition is as follows: 

1. For entries via Instagram, entrants must share a photo of their cat on Instagram, tagging @Applawspetfood and using the hashtag #MakeYourCatAStar. To ensure their entry is seen, entrants must also tag @Applawspetfood. Additionally, entrants must like the competition post and follow @Applawspetfood. The Promoter will select one winner, who will be asked to submit a high-resolution photo of their cat or provide permission to use the tagged photo for sharing on Applaws Pet Food’s social media channels.

2. For entries via Facebook, entrants must share a photo of their cat in the comments section of the competition post, along with the phrase “Make My Cat A Star!” Entrants must also like the competition post and follow @Applawspetfood on Facebook to ensure their entry is valid. The Promoter will select one winner, who will be asked to submit a high-resolution photo of their cat or provide permission to use the photo in the comments for sharing on Applaws Pet Food’s social media channels.

7. The entrant must not: 

a. Upload pictures of people under 18 (including the entrant); 

b. Post, comment and/or make available any content that is sexually suggestive (including text or pictures) or use swear words or language that may offend or be considered inappropriate;

 c. promote drinking to excess, smoking, illicit drugs, drink driving, or other irresponsible activities; 

d. post, comment and/or make available any content that is factually incorrect, includes opinions that are not genuinely held, illegal, defamatory, fraudulent, threatening, abusive, discriminatory, offensive, an invasion of privacy, or an infringement of any third party’s copyright or other intellectual property rights;

e. post, comment and/or make available any content that is advertising, spam, or links to external sites. This includes posts used in an attempt to direct traffic to other websites, blogs, or pages; 

f. transmit any data, send or upload any content that contains viruses, Trojan horses, worms, time-bombs, keystroke loggers, spyware, adware or any other harmful programs or similar computer code designed to adversely affect the operation of any computer software or hardware; or 

g. post, comment and/or make available any content that is personal information about yourself or others that should remain private.

8. The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify and take down any posts if the entrant breaches these terms and conditions and to cancel or amend the competition and these terms and conditions without notice in the event of a catastrophe, war, civil or military disturbance, act of God, or any actual or anticipated breach of any applicable law or regulation or any other event outside of the Promoter’s control. Any changes to the competition will be notified to entrants by the Promoter. 

9. The prize for each winner is as follows:  62 packs of 12x70g multipacks at £12.99 each (£805.38) and 4 lots of 7.5kg Dry Food Bags £47.99 each (£191.96) 

10. The winners of the competition will be chosen by the Promoter out of all entries correctly submitted in accordance with these terms and conditions as measured and recorded and verified by the Promoter and or its agent. 

11. The winners will be notified by direct message on Instagram or Facebook within 28 days of the closing date by the Promoter. The winners will only ever be contacted by Applaws. If the winners cannot be contacted or does not claim the prize within 14 days of notification, the Promoter reserve the right to withdraw the prize from the winner and pick a replacement winner from the remaining eligible entries in accordance with the process described above (and that the winner will also have 28 days to respond to their notification). 

12. The Promoter will notify the winner when and where the prize can be redeemed/is delivered. 

13. The Promoter’s decision in respect of all matters to do with the competition will be final and no correspondence will be entered into. 

14. The Promoter will announce the Instagram account of the winners on the @applawspetfood Instagram account within 1 week of the closing date. If any of the winners do not want their cats images shared or included on the list of winners referred to above please let us know when you are contacted by the Applaws account.

 15. The entrant may be asked to participate in publicity in relation to this promotion. The entrant agrees to the use of their name and image in any publicity material, as well as their entry. By entering the competition, the entrant grants the Promoter a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free transferable licence to use, reproduce, modify, publish, and distribute the entrant’s photo submission and caption (along with their username) in connection with the promotion provided by the Promoter and across different media including for any publicity material and marketing purposes. Any personal data will be processed in accordance with the Privacy Policy found at https://applaws.com/uk/privacy-policy/. 

16. This promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with META, or any other Social Network. The entrant is providing their information to Applaws and not to any other party.
