We make our wet food recipes with more real meat…
Applaws tins, pots and pouches are made from human grade chicken breast, beef steak or fish fillets. These prime cuts of meat are formed from muscle tissue. Lean muscle fibres are a natural and arginine and lysine. These are two of the essential amino acids that dogs have to ingest from their diet. They can’t synthesize arginine or lysine themselves.
Arginine deficiency is more likely to become a problem if a low protein diet is fed because the arginine content is also likely to be low. Lysine plays an active role in growth and development.
Chicken breast and fish fillets (like tuna, mackerel, sardine and salmon) also provide natural sources of Omega fatty acids. Omega 3 for example contains EPA (Eicosapentaenoic acid) & DHA (Docosahexaenoic acid) which can help to support good health in dogs of all ages and particularly important for puppies (and pregnant bitches). DHA constitutes one of the `building blocks & of the brain, forming about 8% of the brain by weight.
EPA works similarly to DHA as an essential nutrient and is considered to be one of the single most vital nutrients in the functioning of the brain and nervous system.
